Welcome to the VVIS site. Autumn term 2006 proved a period of expansion and endeavour with the delivery of a wider curriculum, including Food + Technology, Music, and the provision of CIE Advanced Level subjects in addition to the broad range of Lower School and IGCSE subjects already on offer. Based in the West of the Algarve, on the edge of the beautiful coastal village of Burgau, Vale Verde International School provides an education that is based upon the individual needs and the high aspirations of the international community of the area. Class sizes are small, taught by highly qualified members of staff mainly from UK, who have settled permanently in the region. Foreign languages are taught by ‘mother tongue’ specialists.

In addition to their main studies, all of our students opt to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities including Yoga, Group and Individual Music Tuition, Subject Clubs and Sports, the most recent development being the Girls’ Football Squad.

We endeavour to offer a ‘whole school’ approach through involving everyone in excursions to places of educational, social and sporting interest and in school events such as Sports Day, Christmas Concert and the Drama Production. The students also play an active role in charity events and social welfare.

It has been my great pleasure to lead this school as an administrator and teacher since September 2006. This establishment has a very special and pleasant atmosphere all of its own.
